Before specializing in ceramics, Ben is fond of painting and drawing. He graduated from Hong Kong Art School in 2004 in Diploma in Fine Art (double major in Painting & Ceramics) and obtained the Best Artwork Award (Ceramics). He obtained a B.A. degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University in 2007 majoring in Ceramics. He founded his own studio, Tao Tao ceramic studio in 2010.
