葉露珠 YIP, Kristy
Graduated from bachelor of fine art at RMIT University (major in painting), Kristy Yip is an independent artist based in Hong Kong. She always regards painting as a good way to reflect upon one’s feeling and emotion and she believes that truthfulness is very important in making art, allowing artists’ personality and thinking to show. In other word, the artworks contains soul.
Yip’s art inspiration comes from her experience of life and currently she is carrying out projects about studying her own identity with the trace back of childhood memories and parental issues. Her works often appears as delicate and intimate since they deeply connect to her soul. Although her works are created out from her personal stories, others easily resonate with such strong emotions from her paintings.
Through out years of studying in Hong Kong Art School and RMIT, Yip has been exploring different media and now experiencing various medium in paintings, trying to let the materials to speak for the theme. She is fond of combing paintings into installation so that she can expand the meaning of a 2D image.
